Raised by a single mother and two aunts, I was instilled with a fierce sense of independence and an awareness of how socioeconomic factors affect student achievement. As the first member in my family to attend college, I was honored to receive a full-ride scholarship to USC, and later, a graduate fellowship to NYU, where my passion for learning and teaching fueled my studies in creative writing and communication.

Driven by a commitment to educational equity, I have worked extensively across diverse communities, viewing writing as a tool for empowerment. My literary outreach experience spans roles such as supporting children in underserved Los Angeles neighborhoods through the JEPReadersPLUS program, serving as an Adjunct Professor at New York University, and contributing my expertise as a Goldwater Fellow. My work has been published in Vogue, HuffPost, and The American Poetry Review.
